Measurement system for fingerprint acquisition

Fingerprint image acquisition system is presented. Parts of the system that are necessary for the system functionality are explained, including the fingerprint recognition technique overview. Basic comparison of the majority of the biometric technique efficiency is provided in order to determine convenience of the fingerprint recognition method. Two system integration possibilities of the named sensor are described. Explanations of the performed signal measurements of the control and data signals with results are presented. Images of typical fingerprints as well as the images of the fingerprints acquired under conditions where normal sensor operability is not possible are provided for the results accomplishment. Security, data protection and forgery issues has been discussed. Two methods for the fake finger detection based on bioimpedance measurement and pulse oximetry analysis are proposed.
