Posterior approach circumferential fixation of unstable burst thoracolumbar fracture
Objective: The use of transpedicular screw fiation (TSF) in the treatment of unstable burst thoracolumbar fractures (UBTF) is increasing in spite of the fact that its mchanical durability creates cause for concern. Our aim is to present a new operative technique named posterior approach circumferential fiation (PACE). Results and Experience: PACE is twice as stiff as any posterior system alone, but is not as rigid as combined approach fication. In the patients, anatomical reposition without recurrent kyphosis and improvement of two Frankel grades have been achieved. Operative time, blood loss, and hospitalss tay are comparable with other posterior techniques
unstable burst fracture; transpedicula screwfixiation; spinal injury
