The Efffects of Station Initiated Failures on Composite Power System Reliability
In this paper, the effects of station initiated failures on composite power system reliability are investigated. The station components are exposed to failures which models were presented in a paper. A Markov state-transition-oriented model of the entire switching station has been compared with station-component-oriented models. Furthermore, some problems regarding the accurate modelling of station failure events, including switching procedure are discussed in the paper. Reliability analysis of real power system of eastern Croatia is performed using state enumeration approach. CRUSE and REOSTAT software were used in all computations and sensitivity analysis of computed reliability indices to station component outage data was discussed.
