Emission of airborne bacteria and fungi from farm into environment
It is known fact that in the air of animal houses many kind of microorganisms can be found. Some of them are pathogenic and they represent a risk for animal and farmer health, and health of people living in nearby residential areas. Except temperature – humidity correlations, ventilation system which dilutes and emits microorganisms into the environment, also have influence on their number. The study was done on swine farm, where the complete production cycle is present. The air samples were taken with surface air sampler (SAS) on different distances from ventilation system which emits the air from farm. The goal of this study was to find out quantity and species of bacteria and fungi which were emitted from the farm into environment and how far from farm they can be detected.
