Load Capacity of the Tooth Root in Internal High Transverse Contact Ratio Involute Gearing
This paper deals with the analysis of the load capacity, i.e. tooth root stress in internal high transverse contact ratio involute gearing. On the basis of the theoretical load distribution, the tooth root stress along the path of contact has been calculated. The theoretical values of the tooth root stresses are checked, i.e. compared with the real values obtained by using the Finite Element Method. The maximal theoretical and real value of the tooth root stress along the path of contact has been compared with the calculation of tooth root stress according to the German Standard DIN 3990. It is evident that the DIN-Standard procedure on average gives higher values of the tooth root stresses in comparison with the real values obtained by using the Finite Element Method.
