Communication - a factor for improving the access to and quality of healthcare services
Healthcare is a particulaly sensitive area that requires communication skills in addition to clinical skills. This is the reason more why cmmunication is considered a factor of better access and qualty of healthcare services. This paper examines the quality of internal (horizontal and vertical) and external communication in the Croatia's healthcare. Research results indicate that the level of internal and external (patient - higher level of healthcare protection) communication is not satisfactory. According to authors, the reasons for this are inadequate healthcare management and lack of functional knowledge (communicology, computer skills) on part of the medical personnel and management. Thus, in this paper they provide directives for resolving this issue.
