Clubs in rhythmic gymnastics: differentiating between more and less successful 7-year-old girls
A satisfactory level of acquisition of elements with clubs and a faster process of learning are the best with the examinees who have an expressed feeling for rhythm, above the average frequency of leg movements, as well as the static strength of arms and of the shoulder girdle. The research studies in the field of rhythmic gymnastics which would contribute to the information on the process of learning (Magill and Scoefender - Zohdi, 1996 ; Magill 1993) are rare. This study, particularly after the change of the official F.I.G. Code of Points, has contributed to the body of information on the adequacy of requirements set before this particular population of young gymnasts. The author's standpoint is that the acquisition of new technical elements should be harmonised and methodically oriented in concordance with the development curve of the girls' characteristics and abilities. It may be concluded that the measurement instruments proposed for the assessment of the technical level of executing the elements with clubs are suitable for the training process.
