Reduction of measurement uncertainty by correcting instrument transformers errors with software
Some power analyzers accurately measure the power of devices with low power factor. Instrument transformers, which transform high voltages and currents to levels adequate to power analyzer channels, introduce amplitude and phase errors witch cause large power errors. Errors of instrument transformers depend of burden, voltage or current, and measuring range of each instrument transformer. They are determined by calibration. Consequently, measured power can be corrected. With regard to numerous input parameters and complicate calculation, rational solution for correction of measured power and reduction of measurement uncertainty is development of adequate software and integration of power analyzer and PC in measurement system.
