The changes in production technology and in communication media have always affected the process of education. Komensky is regarded to have been able to define the class-subject-lesson didactic model owing to one ot the one of the most revolutionary communication media of this time - the book. Nowaday, schools and students are surrounded by a totall different media environment in comparison to the period in wich Komensky lived. The most powerful media today are multimedia on CD or DVD and the Internet. Because of their great communication power in relation to traditional media we are refer to them as hypermedia and hipermedia educational technology. This technology determines major changes in the teaching strategies used in the education of adolescents and adults. This paper discusses the nature of these changes in the educational and school system as well as the demand for a didactic design of multimedia software.
