Acoustic modificiation of the "Tresnja" theatre
The Tresnja theatre, made exclusively for children plays, is very colorful but with some serious mistakes in its acoustical properties. One of them was an ineffective layout of the reflecting surfaces of the walls and ceiling which led to low sound loudness level coming from the stage and low speech intelligibility of the last 6 rows of the auditorium. An inexpensive modification was required to solve this problem. A series of ETC measurements on the most critical spots revealed the problem in an objective way. With inclination modification of a part of the sidewalls and by reducing the absorption of the back wall, an improvement in acoustical properties was achieved. This was again checked with measurements of ETCs on the same spots.
