Business Process Renovation using Discrete Event Simukation and Workflow Management
Discrete-event simulation is one of the most important methods used for business processes modelling. On the other hand, Workflow Management (WFM) is a key technology for supporting the management of processes as it supports the definition, execution, controlling and documentation of business processes. Simulation modelling and WFM are complementary and can be jointly used to improve the efficiency of business restructuring. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of information technology in the context of business process renovation and present the research on some aspects of the business processes and information modelling. The paper also discusses the relationships that exist between business process modelling and workflow modelling.
