Tourism and cultural identity
Global politics are becoming multicultural and multicivilizational. Many researchers consider civilization to mean cultural identity in which the national state is the source of identity that is weaking through modernization. Tourism is one of the ways to stand up to the intentions of certain liberal democrats who foresee overall centralization, a global cultural and linguistic harmonization. The survival and development of small countries and the tourism of such countries must be based on the continual deliberation of one's own cultural identity in a constantly changing environment. Tourism that deliberates cultural identity can hinder the attempts of liberal democrats to make tourism a marketplace for imported goods and services, with the national economy supplying only labour and natural resources.
