Identifikacija i opis stijena i tala u geotehnici
A system of engineering geological rock and soil identification and description is presented in this paper. It consists of: definition of the descriptive rock name ; description of rock/soil material and mass characteristics. In several examples of folded eocene flysh sediments the advantages of a uniform approach to rock and soil identification were illustrated with the practical value of engineering geological description for rock/soil characterization with purpose of geomechanical/geotechnical classifications. The fact that this system is included in the British national geotechnical standard BS 5930:1981 and in adequate international geotechnical standards (ISO/DIS 14688 i 14689) as well, points out to its general acceptance. The definition of system of rock/soil engineering geological identification and description is planed in the frame of european standards for geotechnical investigations.
