Konzerviranje namirnica ionizacijskim zračenjem
Since the very beginning of discovery of radioactivity, attempts have been made to use energy of ionizing radiation for food preservation. Bat, after the World War II, more intensive investigations have been performed about the use of radiation as a new method of food preservation. In this paper, a review is presented of the use of ionizing radiation in food preservation, the way of effects of ionizing radiation on microorganisms in food, permitted doses of radiation for certain food of animal origin in Croatia, as well as the effects of such radiation on contaminated food.
