Bodljikaši (Echinodermata) Murterskog mora s posebnim osvrtom na Kornatsko otočje
In the course of occasional biocoenological research from 1982-1992, echinoderms were collected by skin and SCUBA divers, and with grabs, biological dredge, and commercial otter trawl. All literature data from the area have been critically reviewed. In total, 135 stations were localized, and 62 species listed: 1 Crinoidea, 18 Holothuroidea, 15 Asteroidea, 16 Ophiuroidea, and 12 Echinoidea. Some of them were previously rarely noted in the Adriatic Sea as, for example, Holothuria impatiens, Labidoplax buski, Luidia ciliaris, Peltaster placenta, Amphiura cherbonnieri, Amphiura securigera and others. Findings of Holothuria sanctori and Thyone gadeana were the first in the Adriatic Sea. Echinoderms of the area studied make 61% of Adriatic echinofauna, most of them pertaining to Atlantic - Mediterranean faunistic stocks. It seems that Kornati archipelago, in the Adriatic Sea, is the northernmost distributional area of Chaetaster longipes, Hacelia attenuata, Ophidiaster ophidianus, Ophiacantha setosa and Centrostephanus longispinus. Similarly, Amphiura securigera of boreal origin has not yet been found south of Dajne Islets.
