Modeling Agent-based Framework for the Automation of SLA Management Lifecycle
In this paper an agent-based framework for the automation of Service Level Agreement (SLA) management lifecycle is presented. SLAs are the cornerstone of this framework used to specify various Quality of Service (QoS) requirements. The multi-agent system (MAS) for QoS management specified by MESSAGE (Methodology for Engineering Systems of Software Agents) is used to capture the market relationships between stakeholders involved in the dynamic creation and delivery of end-user services with QoS guarantees according to the business model defined in TINA (Telecommunication Information Networking Architecture). By using DAML+OIL (DARPA Agent Markup Language and Ontology Inference Layer) ontology language, a description language sufficiently expressive and flexible to be used not only in advertisements, but also in matchmaking queries, negotiation proposals and agreements is introduced and analyzed. The operations which have to be carried out on this description language in order to support automated SLA management are also identified.
