Life-orientation of radiolitid rudists (Mollusca, Hippuritoidea) as possible response to palaeocurrent regime
The observed preferential orientation of some in situ preserved radiolitid rudist taxa implicates a functional morphology of posteroventral structural modifications of shell-growth lamellae, so called radial bands. Possible affirmative results could promote the radiolitid communities to a useful tool in many aspects of a palaeoenvironmental investigations.
