Formulation of boundary element method for 2-D slow-motion incompressible viscous flow
Paper presents complete evaluation of integral equations related to the two-dimensional steady slow-motion incompressible viscous flow. Due to difficulty to find exact solution of integral equation that determines the equilibrium of boundary conditions, it is convenient to apply some numerical method, such as so-called boundary element method. Once, when boundary conditions are completely determined, it is easy to apply evaluated integral equations to find components of fluid velocity at the any point of the space by simple integration of boundary conditions. Forces on the solid disturbing fluid flow can be found by integration of traction components on the solid's boundary. Described method can be used in a various researches, such as in the study of the slow-motion incompressible viscous flow around a solid, in the channels, in the hydrostatic and hydrodynamic bearings, etc.
