Naphthalanotherapy reduce angiogenetic factor in psoriatic lesions
Immunohistochemical analysis (cell immunophenotyping before and after 3-week treatment with naphtalan oil) was performed on biopsy specimens of 10 patients with psoriasis vulgaris. To examinee the angiogenetic factor in psoriatic lesions immunohistochemical staining on 3-μ m paraffin block sections was done using monoclonal anti-Factor VIII antibody (Dako, Glostrup, Denmark). There was significant difference between mean number of new blood vessels between patients before and after specific therapy. (15.1 vs. 6.7). It seems that naphtalan therapy reduces number of new blood vessels and has effect on neovascularisation in patients with psoriasis.
