The paper presents weldability and accelerated corrosion resistance of modern composite SANICRO/4L7 tube in steamboiler manufacturing. St 45.8 (4L7) carbon steel is inner tube material and outer tube material is alloy X1NiCrMoCuN31.27.4 (Sanicro 28). Welding of composite tubes demands a special technique and knowledge due well known problems of joining two dissimilar metals. The problem of possible hot cracking during welding of those tubes and requirements for quality assurance before and during welding is emphasized. Beside that, the accelerated corrosion laboratory investigation results in salt spray chamber are presented. With weldability experience from praxis of composite tubes used in steamboiler production and results of accelerated corrosion resistance in salt spray chamber, authors would like to give contribution to knowledge base of these materials.
