Reactivation of fetal plasticity in Alzheimer's disease
Study of the developmental (fetal) regulation of tau phosphorylations at "Alzheimer's" epitopes may help explain their persistence or recurrence during Alzheimer's disease. This would lead to identification and better characterization of responsible protein kinases that can serve as therapeutic targets for halting the progression of paired helical filament formation and accumulation of neurofibrillary tangles.
