Decolourization of Textile Dyes Using Natural Recourses
The control of water polution has become increasingly important over recent years. Although the release of dyes into the environment represents only a small proportion of water pollution, the dyes are however, visible in small quantities due to their brillance. Currently, the removal of dyes from effluents is carried out by physycal - chemical means. Such methods are often very expensive and, although the dyes are removed, accumulation of concentrated sludge creates a disposal problem. Nature itself, reuses and recycles its recources without creating toxic dumps or polluting waterways. We can learn to recycle our wastewater relatively inexpensively by imitating nature. This paper suggests an effective, cheaper alternative sawdust. The influence of dye concentration (reactive and metal-complex) and adsorbent mass was studied. Electrical conductivity, pH, and the amount of CL ions were followed and dye removal during the processes was determined using a spectrophotometrical method.
