The results of treating childrens' acute lymphoblastic leukemia in Croatia with protocol ALL-BFM 95
Objective of Study. To improve the outcome of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in Croatia. Patients and Methods. Between October 1st 1996 to December 31st 2000, 142 chilsren (SR group 46-32, 4% ; MR group 81-51, 04% and HR 15- 10, 56%) had newly diagnosed ALL treated with the protocol ALL-BFM 95. Results. 1st complete remissio was achieved in 133. 28 patients developed relapse, bone marrow relapse 24, bone marrow and CNS 3, CNS 1. 23 died ; 3 in induction, 5 in CCR, 17 in relapse and 119 survived. From evidence lost 4. Event free survival was 78% ; for SR 86%, MR 79, 8, HR 30% and disease free survival was 82%. Conclusion. The achieved results are similar to the results achieved by other European Centres.
