Pouring technique of open-cell metal foam

Metal foams belong to the group of materials with low density and very good combination of mechanical, electrical, thermal and acoustic properties. Using all the advantages they have regarding homogeneous materials, they can be used for ultra-light structures, energy absorption and for the fabrication of heat exchangers. The development of techniques for the production of metal foams began in the 50s of the last century. The reason for their not having been implemented in practice until today lies in the expensive and complex equipment and in the complexity of the foaming process. [1, 2, 3, 4 and 5]
