Changes of Dynamic Moments of Inertia in a Pirouette
The aim of this study was to calculate dynamic moments of inertia of the human body during a dancing a pirouette. Investigation has been performed for female subjects. A biomechanical model of female body has been determined. For description of inertial properties, the body has been modelled using 16 geometric solids. A method which permits the determination of dynamic moments of inertia for axis of rotation, on the basis of the model of human body and by filming the motion, has been described. Dynamic moments of inertia have been calculated for five percentile groups of female dancers and the results have been compared. The dependency of the angular velocity and calculated dynamic moments of inertia has been described. The analysis of the dynamic model has shown the possibility of influencing the motion of a body during dancing a pirouette. It gives the possibility of optimization of function of inertia changes, for the purpose of achieving faster or slower rotation in pirouette
