Globalisation and technology.: new possibilities and risk factors
Globalisation is the most important megatrend in the modem development of our civilisation. This process is technology based it is a result of the technological development in general and in the fields of modern production, transportation and communication in particular. The term "Globalisation" describes the increased mobility of goods, services, labour, technology and capital throughout the world. The result of globalisation is the global polarisation and imbalance, only a few countries have access to the benefits of globalisation, while others remain at the margin without having even the hope of getting in within a more or less short timeframe. The globalisation is complexes process which has not only economic, but also a cultural, technological and political dimension. Present international imbalance caused by globalisation is also the result of large scale misuse of and acting according to economical reasons only, and ignoring the other aspects, such as human solidarity and environment. To correct this imbalance following four strategies are proposed: globalisation of human rights, solidarity, subsidiary, and new engineer ethics for developing and use of technology.
globalization ; technology ; engineer ethics ; trends of technology.
