Aspects of Schwinger-Dyson approach to QCD and hadrons
The consistently coupled Schwinger-Dyson (SD) and Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equations provides a powerful tool for studying meson spectra and processes involving mesons. So far, the infrared (IR) part of the gluon propagator had to be modeled. To obtain a successful SD-BS description of phenomenology this IR part of the interaction has to be fairly strong. That is, regardless of details of the form of the interaction, its integrated strength in the infrared must be fairly high to achieve acceptable description of hadrons, notably mass spectra and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking. The theoretical understanding of these IR strengths and shapes of the effective interactions required by phenomenology, is still far from complete. We propose a mechanism based on gluon condensates which can provide this enhancement at intermediate momenta. We obtain sufficiently strong to describe the light pseudoscalar sector.
