Globalization and Croatian Selling Industry
Since the beginning of 90s, all transitional countries were trying to establish a more flexible legal framework and to change the structure of their national economies. The aim of the brand new legal framework and consequent changes in Croatia was to allow the entry of foreign capital onto the domestic market and to make Croatia more attractive to global capital. Due to the entry of European chain stores onto the Croatian marketplace (from 1999 till now), Croatian selling industry faces positive structural changes. Large Croatian retailers and wholesalers are looking for new ways to compete in such dynamic and competitive environment. They are also investigating opportunities to enter new markets in the region. This paper presents some findings in relation to current trends in selling industry and offers recommendations related to faster integration into the globalized market place
