Knowledge Management Support System as the Basis for Competitiveness
Modern business models such as: management by exception, mass customization (both in production and distribution), improved customer relationship and strengthened relations within a supply chain are based on effective knowledge management and ability of a certain company to create and exploit new knowledge. With new approaches and methodologies corporate information systems are trying to gather, store and disseminate knowledge in different forms and formats. Different software tools and methods, called KMSS (Knowledge Management Support Systems) are used for this purpose. This paper explains the influence of knowledge on company’ s competitiveness and describes information technologies, which are used for the purpose of knowledge management.
