Cellular antigen stimulation test (CAST) in diagnosis of hymenoptera venom allergy

Insect venom very frequently induced allergic reaction.The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulnedd of CAST_ELISA test in diagnosis of allergic reaction mediated by bee and wasp venom. Although this is a small number of bee and wasp venom sensitive patients, we observed high association between postivie clinical history and positive CAST test (91% ; 20/22). Detection of allergen-induced sLT thus promising for in vitro confirmation of hypersensitivity reactions to bee and wasp venoms.
