The influence of circavital oscillations on immune reaction
The haematopoetic and immune system in all components is marked by multifrequential oscillation with a dominant rhythm of proliferation and cell function within circadian, circannual and circavital oscillations. The number of blood corpuscular elements, the number and function capabillity of immunocompetent cells, T- and B- lymphocytes and NK-cells, cell proteins, immunoglobulines and components of complement, have characteristic chronobiologic oscillations. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of circavital oscillations on immune reaction. The study was performed among eighty four individuals aged from 15 to 84 years: the "younger" group (15-44 yrs) and "older" group (45-84 yrs) , 42 members each, were selected according to Senieur protocol admission criteria. The EURAGE Concerted Action Programme on Ageing of the European Community described the Senieur protocol with criteria for immunological studies in man, based on clinical and laboratory information. The "older" group showed increased values in helper T-cells (CD4) (p<0, 05), number (p<0, 03) of B-cells (CD 20), globulins (p<0, 01) and gammaglobulins (p<0, 05) as well as immunoglobulin A(p<0.001)and the complement components: C3(p<0, 01) and C4 (p<0, 001). Tuberculin skin reaction was lower (p<0, 001) such as digestion activity (p<0, 05), the albumines (p<0, 001) and immunoglobulin E (p<0, 05). The results suggest the influence of circavital oscillations on some immunological parameters and possible explanation for the incidence of infective , autoimmune and neoplastic diseases among aged persons.
