Računala između znanosti i umjetnosti

One can distinguish between various aspects of computer usage in the design education process: computers as a means of knowledge transfer (i.e. hypermedia) ; computers (i.e. graphic and other programs) as tools in the process of visualisation, representation and valorisation of fine arts and graphic arts ; computers as a means of communication. The key premise of computer courses in design education is based on the thesis that there exists a strong link between computers and some fundamental principles of Modern Art. These could be presented through the review of concepts of Modern Art, and the relationship that exists between Modern Art and the abstraction, geometry, space and the written document. As has been done many times before, the artsis is presented as an empirical scientist whose goal is to resarch and confirm theses that have been theoretically established by science. Through their capacities of knowledge transfer, visualisation and interactive communication of text and images, computers represent a media in which connection between art and science can be established and developed.
