New Chiral bis-Oxalamides and bis-Urea Gelators ; Relationship between Chemical Structure and Fiber Morphology
Gelation properties of bis(leucine) and bis(phenylglycine) oxalamides showed their ambidextrous capability to gelatinize both lipophilic organic solvents and water. A new series of bis(L-leucine) bis-oxalamide and bis-urea gelators with different length of aliphatic chain between two nitrogens were synthetized. Gelation properties of bis-oxalamide and bis-urea derivatives were compared, and influence of lengtl pf aliphatic chain and different terminal groups on gelation properties is examined. The fiber morphology determined by TEM and SEM investigations is found to depend on the type of terminal groups.
