Trend of evapotranspiration in the Marine park of Silba
The atmosphere plays a prominent role in the management of natural resources. One of preconditions for a resonable management of natural resources is profund knowledge of biological processes depending on climatic conditions. Namely spatial distribution of plant and animal species depend on climatic elements such as radiation, light, warmth, humidity, evapotranspiration, the amount of soil wather and other meteorological phenomena. As climate greatly effects all the life in the ecosystem, we should both use its advantage and protect us from its negative influences. this is the reason why in frame of the project to preserve biodiversity in the Adriatic sea the linear trends of air temperature, precipitation amount, relative humidity, potential and actual evapotranspiration and moistre loss from soil in the marine park of Silba in the period 1994-1993 were analysed. The island of Silba is situated in the northern Adriatic sea of Croatia. According to the linear trend analyses and the nonparametric Mann-Kendall test, the exsistence of a significant trend of potential evapotranspiration and relative humidity have been established during the last 30 years.
