Possibilities of Energy Saving in Soil Tillage

This paper deals with energy requirements in primary soil tillage and seedbed preparation and some possibilities of energy saving as well. At first part of the paper there was explained possibilities of energy saving in conventional soil tillage system according to research that was carried out in ploughing at different working depth and speed, discharrowing at different speed and working width and seedbed preparation at different working width. The second part of paper showed possibilities of energy saving due to substitution of chisel plough instead of mouldboard plough and reducing number of operations in seedbed preparation by means of nonconventional tillage implements as P.T.O. powered implements or multitiller.
