A dummy variable regression analysis of the effects of natural substrates on zeolite basis on microbial population in the soil
The use of natural substrates (zeolites) is based on their physical-chemical properties as ion-exchangers and fertilizer adsorbers which they slowly release supplying the plant with nutrients. Their use can, to some extent, reduce the utilization of mineral fertilizers and replace calcification, improving in this way the soil quality. The experiment was set in rectangular randomized block design with seven variants, four replications each on an arable, acid soil. The results show that the combination of mineral fertilizer and limestone had the best effect on the total number of microorganisms in soil during the period of observation. The total effects of treatments were statistically significant regarding the number of aerobic heterotrophic bacteria, as well as the seasons. The interaction of variants and seasons had no statistical significance regarding aerobic heterotrophic bacteria.
