Strong effect of Zn substitution on a normal state magnetoresistivity of Y1-yCayBa2(Cu1-x Znx)3O7-d films
We report measurements of the in-plane resistivity, magnetoresistivity (MR) and Hall resistivity of nearly optimally doped Y1-yCayBa2(Cu1-x Znx)3O7-d(x=0, 0.02, 0.04: y=0.05, 0.1) and overdoped Y0.95Ca0.05Ba2(Cu1-x Znx)3O7 films. The Hall coefficient in this Zn doped system is proportional to 1/T, the cotangent of the Hall angle follows a T2 behaviour while the normal orbital magnetoresistivity vary as T-4 in the high temperature region. From the analysis of the resistivity, Hall voltage and magnetoresistivity data we extracted the strong effect Zn doping on the normal orbital magnetoresistivity in high temperature region. It was found that the introduction of Zn dopant strongly suppresses normal orbital magnetoresistivity. Also, the normal orbital magnetoresistivity abbeys T-4 law in the temperature range where resistivity and cotangent of the Hall angle do not abbey linear and T2 behaviour, respectively.
