Comparison of UV protective properties of undyed woven fabrics for sunshades treated with different UV absorbers

Interest in protection against solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) among the general public all over the World has been increasing steadily. The protective properties of sunscreens, sunglasses, hats and clothing against UVR have been the subject of considerable research for some time, and over the last few years interest has extended to the provision of shade structures and the UV protection provided by various commonly used textile materials. With this purpose, the aim of this paper is to quantify UV protective properties of undyed woven fabrics for sunshades, beach tents and other coverings treated with different on the market available UV absorbers and evaluation of investigated materials UV protection effectiveness.
