Bond and bond-slip of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement in concrete.
The use of nonmetal FRP-reinforcement in concrete elements posed numerous questions. Two of them are the quality of bond between such reinforcement and surrounding concrete, and its behavior during the increase of loading. Therefore, series of standard beam test specimens have been tested. The sand-coated glass fiber reinforced polymer bars (GFRP), sand-coated carbon fiber reinforced polymer bars (CFRP), and steel bars in specimens were used. Specimens were exposed to monotonously increased loading. In this paper experimental results of bond-slip response curves between concrete and reinforcement are presented and discussed.
