Određivanje raspodjele doza u RTG dijagnostici na animalnom modelu
The basis for radiation protection is the exact knowledge of absorbed dose. The dose determination in X-ray disagnostics is not a simple task because variable low-energy radiation has to be measured. Therefore the veterinarian X-ray equipment and the used dosimetric system were first tested and their reliability detemined. It was found that the dosimetric system used, i.e. the TLD-700 detectors combined with a computerized TOLEDO 654 reader meet the requirements of dose determination in the X-ray diagnostics. After determination of the uncertainty of the dosimetry system, of the irradiation field homogeneity and of the reproducibility of the X-ray irradiation procedure the organ doses received in X-ray examination of abdomen and pelvis of dogs were measured. The standard deviation of dose in the primary beam in 4 measurement cycles was +-5%, while the standard deviation of dose to organs was +- 25-30%. The analysis of the dosimetric results in the veterinarian X-ray diagnostics shows that besides the radiation damage the dose distribution (organ doses) can be estimated on the basis of the primary beam dose measurements.
