History and development of the hospice movement

a hospice is a modern health-care institution that offers a series of systems to help people and their care givers / families, and after death occurs, to help in situations of grieving.Hospice began to develop in 2500 B.C. in India and Egypt, and as such their development systematically advanced to this day where the system of contemporary medicine and technology did not , after all, forget the human being ( patient, seriously ill person ) and consider him just a series of organs, but with emotions, stand - points, wishes and a spiritual profile. The development and need for hospices is inevitable to every country, and thus, Croatia. Rijeka, as one of the laregest cities in Croatia, also follows the idea of palliative care and hospices, wich is mainly witnessed trough the education of physicians, medical nurses, social workers and members of the clergy.
