Stabilisation of the Metalworking Fluid from the Biodeterioration
Metal working fluid is inevitable part of each metal machining process. Due to its organic compounds it is susceptible to biodeterioration process. In this work microbial growth in the emulsion taken from an industrial process and the inhibitory effect of microbiocide on microorganisms has been studied. Results of microbiological analysis showed that in the sample of metalworking fluid (emulsion) were present 2, 7.107 cfu ml-1. Inhibitory effect of different fractions of the isothiazoline type of microbiocide (37, 5-300 ppm) on isolated pure and mixed cultures of microorganisms were investigated. Among the pure cultures, bacterium Klebsiella sp. was the most resistant to tested compound. It was found that the growth of mixed culture in originally infected metalworking emulsion was completely inhibited in the presence of microbiocide during 0, 5 to 4 hours, depending on microbiocide concentration.
