Praćenje radioaktivnosti na plinskom polju Molve

Natural gas is an extremely important source of energy, especially in Croatia, where its use exceeds other sources by one third. Natural gas is composed primarily of the methane, but it also contains small amounts of radioactive elements. The process of getting natural gas from underground wells to the end users has the potential of being environmentally destructive, and could cause harmful effects on population living near. This study was carried out by the Radiation Protection Unit of Institute for Medical Research from Zagreb, on a natural gas field at Molve, as a part of monitoring program ” Monitoring okoliša CPS Molve” . The purpose of this paper was to compare different radioactivity measuring techniques and population exposure to ionizing radiation
