Language awareness-oriented teacher education
In accordance with the current practical and scientific interest in teacher education, this paper deals with one of the recently developed approaches to teacher education – language teaching (and learning) awareness. The main aim of the paper is to explain the notion of awareness approach to teacher education. Further, the content of language awareness oriented pre-service and in-service teacher education will be presented and the ways of raising teachers´ awareness of their teaching will be outlined. Finally, the values of such approach to teacher education will be stated.
