Adsorption of dodecyl ammonium chloride on sea shell conches
It is well known that surfactants may control crystallization processes through retardation or enhancement of nucleation, crystal growth and/or aggregation. The quantity of surfactants in environment is getting bigger every day. Therefore, we investigated the adsorption of dodecyl ammonium chloride (DDACI) on seashell conches in model system. The adsorption of DDACL on seashell conches was studied as a function of surfactants concentration. Composition of conches was determined by RTG and FTIR analysis. The initial conditions were: pH 6.5, ionic strength 0,3 mol dm-3 and 298 K. The adsorption isothermes were analyzed by general adsorption isotherm equation for surfactants ?1?.
