THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION PROCESSES ON THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA AND ITS COOPERATION WITH THE EUROPEAN UNION

Globalisation processes around the world have impacted heavily on the cooperation of members, as well as non-members of European integrations and will increasingly continue to do so in the future. Under the impact of changes globalisation has brought about, European Union authorities are focusing closely on economic integration and cooperation with the so-called European transition countries. Croatia was quick to recognize the importance of globalisation developments and has been making efforts to adapt to them ever since it stepped out of the Yugoslav Federation. Croatia is especially interested in converging as rapidly as possible with European economic integrations, lead by the European Union, Europe’ s most important economic and political integration. Although negotiations with the EU began shortly after Croatia gained its independence, the EU due to the well-known events that took place on the Croatian political scene soon postponed them. Under strong pressure from the most developed countries of Europe and the world, and under the new and growing impact of globalisation, Croatia has been developing a more successful cooperation with the EU and other countries around the world. Upon the successful conclusion of negotiations, a Stabilisation and Association Agreement has been ratified by the national parliaments of EU member countries. The implementation of globalisation rules of behaviour has caused a number of parameters in the Croatian economic and political system to change. Some of the answers to these issues can be found by analysing the static and dynamic effects of Croatia’ s accession to the EU, which have been calculated using mathematical and statistical methods and presented in this article.
