Elastic Properties Research of Pressure Cell Sensing Element

This paper show the research results of deflections and stresses in a newly designed sensing element of a fluid pressure cell with electrical-resistance strain gages. The sensing element is in the form of circular diaphragm strengthened with two ring-shaped concentric ribs in order to increase flexural rigidity. The results of proposed analytical solution are compared with experimental results obtained by applying the 3D photoelastic frozen stress method. In the conclusion the validity of the considered constructive solution and the proposed analytical method are underlined.
