Shorten delivery time and cost reduction of turbine blades

Steam and gas turbine blades are noble parts of power machines. They have to enable high efficiency, reliability and safety operation of turbines. Blades must be produced in high precision and quality but price competitive the same time because the final product, the turbine, must be market competitive. The paper presents a project of cost and delivery time reduction and quality improvement of steam turbine blades. To achieve the set targets organizational and technical actions in design, production preparation and machining have taken place. Software programs for parametric design and production preparation were developed and applied with usage of Catia 4.2.4, Catia 5 V14, EXAPT+ and other software. Product structure data base PDM (Product Data Management) and enterprise resource planning system BAAN of Alstom have been applied too.
