THE ECOLOGICAL EFFECT ON ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS IN THE HOTEL INDUSTRY

Book authors begin with very important reasons for implementing ecological concepts in organisations and management functions in the hotel industry. Along with the current ecological analysis provided in the tourism industry, their intentions are to develop trends and ecological models within tourism organisations and management. In the 19th and 20th centuries, natural resoruces were exploited many of which were non-renewable resources. However, in the 21st century we must be aware of limited resources, and trends have already been implemented for saving resources for future generations. Therefore authors must provide educational models of conservation and protection of natural resources and its importance in marketing books for the organization and management tourism sector. These results were discovered through research and surveys conducted with Tourists in Istra 2003. The authors recommend the implementation of ecological monitoring and details of energy and material use and its disposal to be monitored as in other industries. Ecological awareness and the education of managers and workers is very important for tourism in the 21st century. Therefore, in order to promote the use of ethics and moral influence in the growth function of organization and management in tourism, Croatia will need to implement principals of sustainable tourism development. In order for Croatia to become part of the European Union, it must improve the quality of its ecological standards in the tourism industry.
