Power supply choosing in the nir moisture meter
The power supply part of one near infrared-based moisture meter is developed and analysed in this paper. This moisture meter has different parts like opto-mechanical, IR source and electronic amplifier, which require different voltage dual power. Both, voltage value and power load are negotiable the whole time whilst the moisture meter is working. Thus the power line can generate noise impacted on the measured results or may disturb the stability of the operation. Two different base modes of the stabilised power supply are applicable, direct current and impulse-based work. Both have its advantages and disadvantages. Although the impulse supply has a better efficiency and less dimensions and weights are possible, the direct current or linear supply is chosen thanks to less reapply and less noise achievable. Moreover the linear power supplies are simpler constructionally and lower costs usually. The heating of the electronic components and its impact on the measuring results requires a special attention during is the power supply designed. The stability and time response of the power supply are sometimes important too.
